2 years ago I decided to step away from my studies in architecture to focus on fine arts and developing a style. The work I am in the current process of uploading are new works on traditional media and photography, that show this exploration.

I absolutely love deviantArt because it shows my overall progress, ideas, and explorations over the past.. 6-7 years. For me, this is an archive of my growth as an artist.

I just graduated with my undergraduate degree in architecture (with sub focuses in communication and fine art) and I am attending graduate school in the fall for digital media. I am very excited and happy to share this news with everyone at this community!

Well, I was able to keep up my old photo blog for about 3 months or more before it went down hill (mostly because forced breaks caused me to lose interest), but I'm back.

[Ink Stained]

Well, I will hopefully be back.  This is my new photo blog.  I hope to keep it updated weekly or everyday (depending on how free I am from school).  Speaking of which, my final project for studio has come to an end.  Now I just need to focus on all of my other classes.  This means 150% more free time on my end and less stress.  I really cannot stress how much stress has left my life since my studio project finished.

I wish to be more active in all of these online communities.  But, that takes out so much time and energy, and lends itself to becoming a means of procrastination instead of actual productiveness.  Such as deviantArt.  I was very into this community when I first started out years ago.  Now I've lost a lot of interest- mostly due to school.  There's a million other art communities out there.  I've got tons of profiles never touched or updated.  Most of them lay neglected out on the sidelines, waiting for the day I come back from this dream-world of college.  But, I will try  my best to be a bit more active in these communities when school is out.  Also, I will try my best to become 100% more active in creating art for the very same reasons.

Photo Blog

I've started a photo blog at Paper Mist.

I'm using it to help motivate me to take photos and because it doesn't feel like every photo I'll upload has to be perfect so that it might appeal to the general community and hopefully get a +fav or something of the like.  That doesn't mean that I won't still upload here but less frequently (besides, I don't have a photo class so that'll mean less photos to be taken in general).

I'm copying the 100 Theme Challenge List in hopes that I might one day start to use it.

THE LIST

Floor Plans!

Well, my first year at college was fun and a lot of work.  Architecture isn't that bad.. so I think I'm going to stay with it for four more years.  Hopefully I'll get better at designing buildings.

At college I haven't had time to take many pictures, but I'm currently archiving all of the pictures that I've taken since I've joined dA and I might post some in August.  I will finally be taking a course in photography this comming fall, so hopefully I'll learn something new from that.

I'm also thinking of posting some of my other artwork here before school starts up again to get advice on how to improve because I really need some input besides me trying to critique myself.

Anyways, next journal entry'll probably be in another years time xD

Ciao

During last summer I started to really lose interest in deviantArt.  I love this site, true, but I couldn't keep up with viewing and commenting everyone's deviations as well as posting deviations.  So, I stopped posting and commenting.  I still check out artwork and I read a lot of the blogs, but I'm not very active here.  (And I apologise to lordstench because I never got back to his question he asked me!)

Let's see.. well, I finally decided on where to go for college.  I'm going to a technical college in my state and I'm going to major in Architecture.  I hope I do good (because I have never taken an architecture class).  The main reason I picked it was because art is a hard area to do well in (as in find a good job) so I decided to find something that had some math, physics, and art all together.  But, while I'm studying architecture, I hope to minor in art from another college near by.  (I really</b></u> hope I love architecture.. especially if I'm going to be studying it for five years.)

I'm not taking as many photographs with my camera as I used to.  The main reason for this is because in school I decided to sign up for two art classes- Painting and Drawing I, and Composition and Design I.  I've learned a lot from those classes about art and I think I've improved artistically, but I'm not sure how much of that can be shown through a photograph (since I work with pencil, charcoal, acrylic and.. watercolor in those classes).  Actually, after taking those classes I took a look back at the photographs I did take and put up on deviantArt and I've taken a second look at most of them- compositionally and such.  I want to try and now improve my photographs compositionally.. create more interest, movement, etc.. I also want to expand the type of photographs I take.  Most of them are of nature.. and are macros.  I want to try and get out more, take more shots with people in them, or buildings, etc.. because I have a really limited 'gallery' so far.

School is slowly wrapping up.. next month is finals (which I never look foward to).  I'm graduating!  But, after school, I'm planning to get a job.

I'm also working on an art site with a friend (who doesn't have an account on this site).  The website is called SobersInk ( www.sobersink.com ).  There's only one page up saying that the website is under construction as of right now.  What we  (my friend and I) are trying to do is sell artwork.  We have a basic layout, some webspace, the webname... now we're working on getting up a system to sell the artwork in an easy manner.  Hopefully we'll have it up in a few weeks (although, I have my doubts..).  If you have any tips or pointers for the site, I'd be glad to listen to them..
